The forward reads:
(along with many other humorous words)
"This book is for those of us who want to fold our big dishwater hands around a dry Martini, instead of a wet flounder, come the end of a long day".
Apparently it was first published in 1960 and was a runaway success.
It's worth a look!

OMG this book is a classic and I read the entire introduction by her daughter and then her and laughed the whole way through! I think i love to cook - although i agree that there is just not enough time in the day for everything, so at times, that book would be handy!! Although I have the '4 ingredients' cook book - i should provide some great recipes for your easy peasy weekday dinner segment!!! Have a great week Em ;-))
Oh, NO - that book was written for ME! So was your sister's lentil curry recipe down there. Guess what's for dinner chez Myrtleandeunice tomorrow?!
Classic!
(Sorry, a bit sparse on the computer time at present, hence the lack o comments, but I have been reading!)
